In a flurry of wings, the birds broke free from the canopy, leaping into the clear blue sky. Beneath the thick, oppressing branches, the forest was dark and silent. Sunlight leaked through the leaves, creating a dazzling display of filtered light on the leaf-strewn floor. Yet somewhere in the darkness, a wolf was walking.
She was relatively small and slender, with a light beige coat and a vanilla-coloured underbelly. In the dim, gloomy forest, she appeared strangely bright - and her coat seemed to have a ghostly sheen to it. It was covered in heavy, dark black markings - almost like tattooes. Her tail curled onto her back - a sure sign of pariahs dog heritage,

Two pairs of paws; one belonging to a four month old whelp, the other belonging to a two year old whelp, patted the ground softly. The larger lera; both were wolves, owned a black coat of which had many yellow thunderbolt markings. The smaller varg had a black coat with tints of red. "Stormy can hear something." The elder varg murmured to the younger, whom nodded shyly. "Stormy, do you think its another wolf...?" Kasai asked Stormy, whom was forever speaking in third person. "Stormy thinks so, yea." Stormy replied easily, grinning as the scent strengthened; obviously they were getting closer. "There!" Kasai suddenly yipped, pointing to a slim f'mmora varg whom had a curled tail. Stormy yapped delightedly, as Kasai leapt onto her back, then sped over to the fea, stopping before her

The young femme paused. Her over-sized ears pricked, swivelled almost 180 degrees to face the source of the voices - two wolves, two young wolves, two allied wolves. Henna felt her back arch, and forced herself to sit down. Now was not the time to start fights, she told herself. Tucking her curling tail around her feet, she dipped her maw as if in submission. "Greetings!" she called, her strong young voice laced with a slightly arabic accent.

"Hi!" Kasai yipped delightedly. Stormy grinned. "This is Stormy and Kasai." She giggled, pointing firstly to herself, then to Kasai. Her optics picked up on the slight irritation the other must of been feeling for her back to arch as it did. Stormy narrowed her pools slightly, her pinnae remaining pricked.

Henna flattening her ears against her skull, as she rose to her feet. She trotted forward, tail held high. Both were younger than her, and the eldest was already quite a lot larger. "I'm Henna." she told them, her tail wagging ever-so-slowly. "Where am I?" She felt herself cringe. Asking for directions... who was she, some lost whelp?

Stormy frowned up at the fea; not liking her obvious feeling of being higher ranking than they. "Goddamn Sikla." She muttered under her breath, rising to her paws also and raising both her crania and plumage. "Your on the boundaries of our pack terrain." Kasai offered quietly, standing shakily beside Stormy.

Henna's tail dropped. Inwardly, she scolded herself. Stop being dominent, stop being dominent, stop being dominent.... "I apologise for intruding." she said icily, "But I'm looking for my father..." Henna glanced up at the pair. She doubted he had come this way - Henna would of smelt it by now

"Whats the Sikla's father's name?" Stormy asked; equally icy, glaring at the f'mmora with distaste. She could easily get the pack here; one howl would bring them all running to her. Kasai shuddered slightly at the icy tones, but stopped when Stormy nuzzled her little friend kindly.

Henna felt herself smiling at Kasai; it didn't seem so long ago now that she had been that young, following her father around dilligently, always shying away when he fought or snarled. Now she revelled in it. "Pace. He's old, and grey, and..." her tail drooped further, tucking between her legs, "....I don't know what happened to him. We got seperating up on the ridge."

Stormy looked to her paws boredly. "Stormy knows of no old, grey wolf named Pace." She said, yawning slightly. Kasai smiled shyly back to Henna

Henna sighed lowly. "Then I truly am a Sikla. He was the only member of the Pack left..." she lay down, head on her paws. She looked even smaller than normal curled up on the floor - strangely vunerable.

"What pack?" Kasai murmured, padding next to henna and shyly lying beside her, smiling shyly. Stormy looked to the skies, and uttered a short, sharp bark. The bushes to her left rustled and a silvery fea with jade opticals emerged. Stormy, like all of the wolves in the pack, had a different bark for every wolf in the pack. "Yes?" Silver murmured to Stormy. "Stormy found a Sikla. Story don't trust her." Stormy muttered back. Silver sat back on her haunches, watching Henna

"Bold...my brother.... he and his mate were the alpha. She was like a sister to me. There were only six of us - but now... everyone's dead..." she growled irratably, half at herself. "And I didn't do anything to stop it." she looked to Stormy. "You better take good care of your sister. Don't know what you got until you've lost them." she told the wolf stormily. She looked up as the other wolf appeared, but decided to say nothing. Instead she stood up, her small frame appearing even more dwarfed compared to the two older wolves. As usual, her curling tail rested sprawled on her back.

Stormy laughed. "Stormy isn't kasai's sister." She giggled, winking to the shy pup. Silver watched the fea with narrowed eyes. "That 'wolf' is part dog." She muttered to Stormy

Henna laughed too, smiling at Kasai. "Sorry, I assumed you were..." she paused, as Silver muttered to Stormy; "That 'wolf' is part dog." Henna's ears pricked, and she rose to her feet. "I heard that." She growled lowly. her tail rose, every hair along her back suddenly on end
