He glanced back at Lola, feeling a bit awkward in her presence. He couldn't leave, though. Something like that might happen again. He looked back at his reflection in the water and then swatted at it angrily.

Lola sighed, looked to him once more, then slowly climbed a tree; stomach making it harder, and sat in the branches; pinnae erect, head raised, optics watchful

He looked back at her, watching her climb the tree. Is she insane? he thought, narrowing one optic.

Lola lay down in the branches; slightly comforted by the fact kamikaze hadn't stopped her; wasn't totally ruling her life!

His stomach rumbled loudly. The only sources of food in the area were Lola and a fish in the pond. Murder you mate- er, the host, he thought, wincing as the word mate passed through his mind, or make a fool out of yourself by jumping in the pond. Seeing that he had no choice but the latter, he reluctantly eyed the fish and lashed out on it, getting himself completely submerged in the cold water.

Lola's head pricked, as did her pinnae, she she turned to see her 'mate', covered in water. She couldn't help but smile; trying hard not to burst into laughter...

Kamikaze glared at the Lola as she held back her laughter, holding the fish in his jaws. He waded back to shore and violently shook himself off.

"Go ahead, laugh," he spat, tearing apart the fish with his claws. "I dare you to."

Lola flinched, silently trying to struggle with his command; being naturally obedient, she was used to doing anything anyone told her, and her own pride.

"Thought so," he snorted, eating various parts of the fish.

Lola sighed, he was no longer 'daring' her, she hoped so, anyhow. She hungrily watched him eating, and sighed again, her stomach rumbling, making it even more painful.

Being close enough to the tree, he heard the slight rumble. Inner thoughts warred.
She's hungry.
You're not thinking of giving her your hard earned meal, are you?
But that means the whelps are hungry too.
So?
We need them. I mean... I need them.
Suit yourself.
He pushed the fish towards her. "Take it," he growled.

Lola looked at him in amazement, then slowly climbed down the tree. keeping a wary orb on Kamikaze, she snatched up the fish in her jaws, quickly breaking it in half and pushing half back to him, not wanting to seem greedy and rude.

He glanced at the fish half and pushed it back. "When I said take it, I meant the whole thing."
