The caves were pitch black, save a single beam of moonlight that streamed in through the narrow entrance. With his head on his paws, Pace lay quite contentedly in the light. He was fast asleep and breathing deeply. The old wolf's growled lowly in his sleep, his grizzled face the picture of concern. Most likely, he was reliving some dark part of his past - from the state of him, it was obvious he had seen many things over the years - or maybe even the decades. His fur, which had once been a dark, mottled grey, was now streaked with white, his ears were ripped and torn, and right through the centre of his thigh was a huge, old wound. He sneezed, and rolling over onto his back.

A pair of small wolven orbs watched Pace silently. As the wolf started towards the older wolf, it stepped into the light; revealing itself. The wolf was, infact, Kasai. Torrential rain poured from the heavens outside the cave and Kasai, seeking shelter and warmth, had come into the cave. She had hoped it empty, and had discovered the old wolven, obviously asleep. She smiled shyly, and curled into a ball beside Pace, her body coated in brown fur, a few red hairs creeping up now and again, though. She started howling, a soft, barely audible noise, which sounded around the cavern. Smiling, Kasai buried her muzzle in her fur and drifted off to sleep...
